Within the framework of FAO’s “Responsible Fisheries Code of Conduct”, Countries must support efficient integrated monitoring systems. Much of the success of these programs is due to the presence of onboard observers.

  • Follow up the fishing activities on vessels.

  • To evaluate the environmental situation that allows managing exploitation levels for the development of sustainable fisheries.

Progress

The program started on April 21, 2018, with an increasing number of shipments, nowadays with 431 days of navigation and the goal of incorporating the entire fleet in October.
